For F3's July 7th meet-up we will be doing a study of the book of Ephesians.
Ahead of then, I encourage you to read through the entire book (it's only six chapters) and ask God to reveal what He wants to teach you personally. Come prepared for our July meet-up not just to gain knowledge, but to examine who you are as a man in Christ.
Ephesians reminds us that before we are called to do anything for God, we must first understand who we are because of God.
This week as you read through the book of Ephesians ask yourself this one question: "What is one thing God is asking me to change this week because of what I'm reading in Ephesians, and how can my brothers in F3 hold me accountable?"
Ephesians Meet-Up Q&A:
- Ephesians begins by reminding us of our identity in Christ before talking about how we should live. Why is it important for a man to know who he is in Christ before trying to lead others?
- Read Ephesians 2:10 aloud, how does this verse impact who we are as F3 men?
- Ephesians 4 calls us to "live a life worthy of the calling." What does that look like in your everyday life as a husband, father, employee, business owner, or friend? Where is that most challenging?
- Paul talks about putting off the "old self" and putting on the "new self" (Ephesians 4:22-24). What old habits, attitudes, or sins do men commonly struggle to let go of? Which one do you personally battle?
- Ephesians 5 tells husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the Church. What does sacrificial love actually look like in today's world? What keeps us from loving that way consistently?
- Ephesians 6 speaks about fathers not provoking their children but raising them in the instruction of the Lord. How can we intentionally disciple our children instead of simply parenting them?
- The Armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) teaches that our battle is spiritual, not merely physical. Which piece of armor do you feel you need to strengthen most in this season, and why?
- Where do you see spiritual warfare showing up in your life, your family, or your work today? How can this group help one another stand firm?
- If every man in this room fully lived out the teachings of Ephesians, how would our families, workplaces, church, and community be different a year from now?
